Dealership Critical Tool Survey

Stated Objectives:

  • Set up a procedure for the dealer to control and track the critical tools.
  • Identify missing or misplaced critical tools.

Following OE guidelines, EAA has performed maintenance inspection processes, verified that the special tool or equipment is current, functional, calibrated, on site, and readily available for technicians to use.

EAA's inspectors review all critical equipment categories: A/C and Coolant, Wheel Services, Lifting Equipment, Brake Services, Battery Services, and Diagnostic and Tool Management.

EAA reviews the survey elements and its results with each dealer representative.

Benefits:

The program served not only the stated objective of developing and installing a procedure for the dealer to control and track critical tools, it also helped identify missing or misplaced critical tools.

Another benefit of this program is that it controls costs through warranty reduction. The secondary benefits this program provides are:

  • Determines the effectiveness of internal dealership controls
  • Assesses the availability and condition of special tools.
